OK, here's my problem.

I have a MY2000 (36,000 miles on it) with a AEM CAI on it. No other mods near the engine compartment (except for the air horns in front of the radiator! )

When I accelerate lightly, between 2500 and 4000 rpm, I hear a screeching noise from time to time. It might last 1 second or up to 4-5 seconds as I accelerate (happens in every gear).

The service tech at Honda said it is the intake, maybe the air filter on it had debris or something on it. I've taken the bumper off, took off the filter (covered up the intake opening with a cotton cloth, and drove it, and still had the screeching sound. Have taken half the intake tubing off, and still hear the sound.

The screeching sound started a few months after I installed the intake.
I have not been able to generate the screeching sound with the car standing still.

Any suggestions?

I really don't want to have to put the stock airbox on and find out that the intake was not the progblem.

I too have the AEM cai but I get a low whistling sound between 2500-4500 rpms...
