Default SEMA 2003 Winner: CarChip OBDII scan tool

This is not available yet but I thought some of you maybe interested in this. I registered on the site to be notified when this will be available. The E/X version can be left plugged in the car to continuously monitors engine and driver performance and can be downloaded instantly to a PC for detailed analysis and graphing.

Are there software (Windows-based) solutions out there with good sampling rates? I have the OBD-2.com setup and can't get it to sample any faster either.

the fewer parameters you choose to monitor the faster the sampling rate ....

RT-

Have you worked with that package? So if I only care about seeing 'spark advance', I should clear all the other ones out and I will get a faster (higher volume) sampling?

Yes I have and yes you will
..... might want to keep one other parameter live too just so you can correlate the data to something .... maybe RPM ..... maybe MAP .....

Okay I just called these people and they told me that the CarChip E/X is compatible with any OBDII compliant veh. The $179.00 price includes the chip, the software on CD, the data cable.

I'm not planning on monitoring anything RT. I'm plan on getting one just to fix problems on my cars when they happen. I had Check Engine Light come up on my truck's dash this year. It was a oxygen sensor that went bad and the dealer charged like $50 or $60 to troubleshoot it with a computer in a few minutes. It was something I could have easily replaced myself if I knew the problem.
