Default Serpentine Tensioner Shaky After Belt Replacement

I recently replaced my serpentine belt with the gatorback. Right after I replaced it, I noticed the auto tensioner is shaky and a little noisy. I checked the belt routing and alignment all looks well. Could it be the new gatorback belt or the auto tensioner needs to be replaced? Anyone experience this problem??

Did you check the length? I always hold the old belt next to the new belt before I replace. Also check the part number on the belt again. If it is the right belt then the tensioner is toast.

Yea I compared the new belt and old belt they were the same length. Is the tensioner easy to replace? do you know if there is DIY thread for the tensioner?

It must be your tensioner, i replaced my OEM belt with a gatorback belt a few months ago and it fit perfectly no noise/shaking or any problems whatsoever.

And to think the honda dealer wanted $140 for an oem drive belt...

paid $20 for the gator, to gatorback

There are marks on the auto tensioner to show you the tensioner is in its working space (so to speak).
Is yours also there?

And.. the spring needs to give about 26 Nm of torque at the bolt of the pulley, turning it the way it would when its mounted.
IOW, with a torque wrench you can check how strong the spring is / should be.

IMO the tensioner is pretty easy to replace.
2 bolts.

Yeah the marker is in its working space. The marker moves left and right but is inside the working space. I will check the torque. Thanks.

After replacing the tensioner, problem remains. I'm just going to leave it alone. Hopefully, the problem will go away.
