Default severe noise & vibration

Hey guys, just picked up my second s2 last week and it's making a bunch of noise underneath the car. I have been doing a lot of reading but can't narrow it down. Here's what I've got

Noise sounds like it's coming from trans/driveshaft area

Noise stops when clutch is depressed, also stops when coasting in neutral regardless of clutch position

Vibrates severely under acceleration when over 60mph

Sounds like a bearing, I just don't know which one, I'll link a video of the car rotating at mph in second gear.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like tranny bearing. You prolly going to need to pull the unit.

I just found my prop shaft has a lot of play in it, I'll upload that video too. Think I've found the issue

My driveshaft has about the same amount of slop in it, I've never noticed a sound like that under load or while driving though. Might go jack the car up and do the same thing just to see if I'm getting what you're getting noise wise.

Is it really noticeable while driving? It's hard to hear anything over a t1r 70rt lol

That driveshaft play is normal. Seems like a rear diff issue, I would drain and fill and check for metal in the oil

It's incredibly loud, I can hear it over my invidia n1. The service manual states a .06in runout service limit on the prop shaft, it says to replace it if out of spec. It really sounds like the noise is coming from where the input shaft meets the prop. I just need a way to know which it is.

I still say your differential is the cause. That shaft has constant directional load when the car is moving, so any play only would be a factor when going from a stop IMO.
