short shifter

General consensus is that it's completely un-necessary. In addition, it is made for a RHD vehicle and will leave you with a shifter that leans in the wrong direction.
That being said, some people have claimed to have installed it "backwards" (ie leaning left) with no problem. Others have paid someone to heat it and bend it back left. Others have left it alone.
You might try a voodoo knob first if you want shorter shifts.

A countersunk knob will be a much cheaper solution if you want to gain a shorter throw. For the cheapest way, take off your stock knob, remove the lock nut, then re-install the knob. It sits lower on the shifter, thus creating a shorter throw.
