Default Should I sit in the car during the alignment?

So...how important is it to be sitting in my S2K during the alignment process? I weigh about 200.

Will it significantly change the specs? Did Honda incorporate the drivers weight when designing the specs for alignment?

I'm doing my first autocross at the California Speedway tomorrow.

Thanks everyone!

I think alignment shops have weights that they can place in the car, if you're concerned about it.

One of the techs sat in mines when they did it. Just tell them.

Answer: No

1. It makes the tech nervous. Then he'll be like: "he moved, and I couldn't get the alignment 100%".

2. The road will have enough variations not to have that make a difference.

Now, if you're over 400lbs, then, ...

heh heh. The shop I was thinking of going to said you can't sit in the car because the device to hold the steering wheel straight is in your way.

He did say that Bear systems, that the BMW dealers use, will allow it, and in some cars is recommended, especially if you do something like adjust corner weights...

Not very important for your first autocross.

That being said, it does change the alignment a little.
I usually sit in my car during race alignments. I'm the device that holds the steering wheel straight.

Easy solution: Just take an instructor along with you for your runs.

they usually say that is the best way to do it. But one of the members on here recently posted that it did not make a difference on the alignment settings doing it with or without the driver as he had a chance to check it both ways.

You sitting in the car makes a difference in the alignment, just sit in it after the tech finishes things and see. The difference is not huge, but it is there. I always aligned my civic with me in the car, but it was pretty much a dedicated track/autox car, so no one else was ever in the car. I drive the S2k on the streets with others way to much so I don't sit in the S2k.
