slack on throttle cable

Default slack on throttle cable

just got my car and notice there is some slack on the throttle cable , should i go ahead and give it more tension or should i leave it as is?.....

Tighten it, leave a little bit of slack though (I believe the specs are in the owner's manual).

Don't go by the manual.
Tighten it leaving ~ 1/4" play.
You will notice the difference

Yep - just so it is not so tight it affects idle

yah it does effect the idle, its happens to me sometimes still sometimes

The OEM manual states a higher tolerance on play.
Hence why when they stretch with age they go very lose!
It only affects idle if you take up too much slack!
Adjust it with the engine running or make a not of the idle rpm before and after.
