Default slight shifter play?

Ever since ive owned my S when I hold the shifter in neutral at a light or somthing I can twist it and it will twist ever so slightly side to side its more of a notchy feeling. Mine is an 03 with 50k.

Agreed Normal-play between the collar and the shift shaft.

The white bushing on the end can get worn out, or crack if you haven't kept up with regressing the shifter. I paid $4 or something for the bushing that you can see in this picture, simply pry/take it off if it's cracked and replace it with a new one.
