Hmm i noticed that when i first got the car (stock) 1st gear vtec was the weakest and 2nd, and 3rd gear pulled the strongest.

From there i got a aem v2 intake test pipe and exhaust. Now my first gear vtec is the strongest and 2nd/3rd feel weak..

i did all the maintenance that you mentioned, like plugs etc.

So I'm stumped too. but it responds pretty qwick.
i think cars just get sluggish as it packs in the miles.

I hit vtec n its just not the same as my ap1 . N sometimes when I hit it , it stays hanging at around 7k rpms for a sec before it redlines . Imma do a compression check next n see.

and I doubt miles will make it feel sluggish. My ap1 had 76k miles n it ran like a champ.

any check engine lights? if not, get a diagnostic at a reputable place and then you'll know for sure

this may sound kind of dumb, but is your Air conditioning on? I wouldn't say my 05 feels sluggish with it on, but it definitely feels faster with the air conditioning off than on.

i burn a lot of oil so i bet theres a bunch of carb build up as the miles pack on. And i got a compression test and all my cylinders were spot on. Running up on 70k miles.

But new cars will be faster and when they get older it gets slower.
