A Small and Cheap Suggestion
We all agree that the s2k needs more air (preferably cool) to the air filter, but there is much confusion on how to do this the best way, without damage potential. Here in Oklahoma, with ambient temps up to 105, it's especially important to avoid low RPM bog. One small and cheap thing you can do is to elevate the left (passenger side) of your filter in the stock airbox by putting a small piece of "one by" lumber under the left (facing the engine) side of the filter, so that the filter is not sitting on the box with part of its area restricted. This is no "ultimate solution" by any means, but it helps some, for the cost of no more than a scrap of lumber you probably have in your garage. My "butt dyno" says it helps a little, and it's cheap and quick.
Hope this helps,
Richard
