Blue smoke or white smoke?
How much oil did you put in?

Well if you put too much oil in it would matter, but you're good.

White smoke means coolant is burning

Blue ( blue /grey smoke) means oil is burning

black means you're running too rich

If its clear and its coming from the hood its not smoke, its steam, and that would be from your radiator or coolant lines.
It has to be a color....
where is it coming from and what color is it?

it was kinda dark, so i cant tell exactly where its coming from, but i looked at the coolant and the radiator they both have fluid.

some members said it could be my map sensor acting up, but from what they describe it seems worst than that.

oh i forgot, one out of those 5 quarts was a 10w30 oil. i just remembered and my dumbass took the vtec out thinking that i can clean it.

thanks

I assume if you cant tell where its coming from , its not coming from the tailpipe, if you took the VTEC solenoid off , that is a valve in wich oil flows through, you probably put it back on wrong and oil is spilling out onto the engine/ headers. that oil will then turn into smoke. check to see that your VTEC gasket is positioned correctly. if its not , you should probably get a new one.

Torque it down to 8.7 ft lbs

the smoke might just be oil split from when you took it out.

Keep your eye on the oil level.

you buy a torque wrench.

In the mean time, you can put the equivalent of 8.7 pounds on the end of a foot long ratchet.

you have to check to see if the gasket is positioned correctly.
( or if its even on)
Its a black thing with a screen on it.
Screen goes on the bottom and faces away from the engine, it should also fit inside the grooves that are cut for it.
