Default So Does any Single exhaust past In CA

So will any single exhaust pass the DB test in Ca. A few posts below there is someone who got a fix it ticket for his Invidia. I'm looking for a single exhaust ( I hear they perform better for the most part and I love the way they look ). But I want to know if I will get tag'ed at everyturn. Any opinions of single models.

Newbie question: If I go with a single exhaust unit with a silencer/resonator will the power output still be better than stock. or do i have to take of the resonator/silencer to make more power than stock.

I highly doubt most singles will past. I have the asm 60mm single and this is probably the most silent single out there. Whenever i see a cop i just cruise at 2-4k and they never look at me, neither do i attract other people. I've had the oem, fujitsubo, now asm. Honestly its just a tad bit louder then the fujitsu under vtec, but once its above 6k, it sounds great, but not screaming loud. It's somewhat expensive but great if you dont want cops on you, around 25 pounds, very stockish look and single.

Depending on the tester they rev the car to about 4500RPM, but do not take it to redline.

ASM 60mm single would be your best bet.

Invidia, Skunk, Apexi would all be louder than an ASM 60mm and Probably louder than the J's 60mm. ASM 70mm will be close its louder than stock. I have a decibel meter at home maybe I will go out and check it this weekend (Piss off the neighbors )

im too lazy to research but don't JASMA compliant exhausts follow some db guidelines? I thought the TRUST single was JASMA compliant too.

The Amuse Extra Titan is the quietest single I've ever heard. I got to hear one at a dyno day this past weekend. We had a db meter...max it registered 108db at full redline in a semi enclosed industrial garage (2 large bay doors open) while standing about 25ft away. Compared to my T1R 63mm which hit 118db.

Note there is an Amuse Titan and an Extra Titan...only the Extra Titan is quiet...it has a Hemholtz resonator.

Lol..... you have a DB meter at home. What use could you have for that. Unless you make money off people you know by testing thier exhaust before they have to get it tested.

There is also this one

Spugen Exhaust

Never really heard of this brand (I've heard of Spoon and Mugen,.....Thought maybe they joined forces )

But in these forums spugen has a pretty good name. And that price is comparable to the Apexi. although i think the apexi looks a little bit better.

I have a dB meter at home as well. Although it was bought primarly for using at my fathers job, you'd be suprised how much you use one when you have one
