I noticed the passenger drain system wasn't draining very well. Not only does it take ages to drain fully, the water doesn't come out of the drain tube behind the wheel... When I blew air in the tube behind the wheel (wheel well outlet), there wasn't any air coming out of the drain into the sink. If I pour water in the sink, it seams to leak a bit on a metal plate near the soft top mechanism. I am able to shove a 1ft tie rap from the bottom and the top of the drainage system. I feel like the seal between the drain and the drain tube is broken. I'm starting to run out of solution. I'll remove the plastic trims to access the drainage system tonight and look for a fix. If y'all have any tips I'll take them before taking the car to my dealer ship this week
I've had to dump several gallons of warm water from the top (closed), while laying underneath the car with a flashlight, poking through the hole with a flexible twig.
Gallons because breaking over a decades worth of gunk and mud takes work.
Started with a trickle, until the clog finally broke free.
I'd keep trying before spending time and money on the dealer.
Something like this will work wonders. I had one sitting around for cleaning Camelback tubing, but this is equivalent. It, along with lots of warm water with a little soap, got my drains to flow freely.
I’m getting water from the drain pipe and no resistance with poking in it with a thin tie wrap, yet water does come out the sill too if I dump a kettle full in quickly, can the drain be overcome by the amount of water? One side does seem better than the other. How do I get access to the tank and hose shown in the pictures above? Ta.
