You have the brake pulled and it's showing the brake light on the dash? Won't open or close without the brake.

There is more than one fuse under the hood and several fuses that must be intact under the dash for the top to work.

could be the motor for the top is burned out. Not likely, but possible.

There aren't that many fuses, just check them all . Besides, its good to know if any are burned out.

There are two motors. Not likely both would be dead. And one working motor would be very obvious when you try to use the top. It's going to be a fuse, or bad switch of some kind.

Does the top switch operate the windows or does it do nothing when switched? Couldn't hurt to check all the fuses just to be sure (as xviper said, there are multiple fuses to check for this).

An after-thought:
Have you been doing anything under the center console of late? There have been instances where the person did not "click in" the top switch or somehow tampered with the ebrake interupt switch.

The windows have to be down before the top will move.....Just a guess, but maybe the window regulator is your problem.
