Default Soft top leak...

My soft top is leaking. It is at the trough, about an inch behind the door. There appears to be a tab that my soft top is not fitted over that it should be.

I sprayed baby powder in my trunk to find the leak and it is on top of my wheel wheel on the passenger side and I cannot figure out how to fix the top though.

Could I take the top off and put it back on or what are my options. Anyone else had this problem? Please help me...

I guess since I am not a member I can't post pics. Here are some off of my Picasa album. The first is the tab that it is over, the second is the general area, it is about an inch behind the top of the door and the third is where the leak is. The channel in the baby powder was the water. Sorry for my technical ineptitude and inherent cheapness.

i have a tears on both side of the car right by the door crease..i think you have the same problem..i think its when you raise/lower the soft top it rubs on the inside as the fabric thins out due to friction it tears...mine is tore on both sides but it doesnt leak so far...

i had this happen to me on the drivers side. it turned out to be a rivet had slipped out of one side of the top and the water was going through the open hole.

i had to take out my interior plastic to get to it.

I have removed all of my interior trim today and am going to attack it tomorrow. I think I may try to look at the rivet idea. I may replace the rain rail or just burn the damn car and claim the insurance. Either way, it will be fixed.

I had a similar problem on my car recently after having the top replaced. I woke up to a pool of water where my spare tire tools were, but under the fabric. I tore out the interior of my trunk and poured water along the back of the top. It drained into my car from a similar spot as in your pics.

Turned out that the drip rail was clogged with junk and spilling over. Had to have them clear out the tubes under the rail to allow it all to drain out from under my car.
