Default Soft-top not moving fully forward.

Pictures posted above illustrate the issue. I have no idea what's causing this, but there is about a half inch gap at the top bolster, next to the door. The gap is about the same on both the driver's and passenger's sides. You can see this is causing a rather large gap between the rearmost portion of the windows and the top weather seal. It is also causing me to have the "at speed" wind noise, regardless of what top catchers or shims I try to use. I have checked and the bumpstop below is not causing the issue, there is still room between the bump and the stop with the top up, secured and fully forward.

Any assistance or ideas would be appreciated.

Really? 55 views and no ideas? No one's seen or heard of this before?

Is your hoop (bar above behind head) not coming up all the way? Is the front header panel coming up all the way to latch?

Yes, both the hoop and header panel come all the way forward (well, forward enough to latch.)

Is that the top that came with the car or did you install a new top?

It isn't the original top, I can tell that much because my car is an '00 and the top has glass w/ defroster (non functional, of course). This was done prior to my purchase of the car.

Did you adjust the stoppers on the frame? Little bolts with a round head on them by the corners behind the side window?

Otherwise, I'd say take off the interior trim panels and make sure the frame is bolted in correctly. If the previous owner didn't put in all 3 on each side, that would throw the positioning off a bit.

The stoppers all appear to be positioned correctly. I have the trim off the car and will take a look and see if they bolted it in completed. As poorly as this car was treated, prior to my ownership, I wouldn't be surprised.

If its an 02-09 top on an 00-01 frame, its going to fight itself. The rigid bar sits higher on the old frame, limiting its movement forward.

Take a pic of the mechanism inside.
