Default Soft top question

Is there supposed to be a Velcro strap on the rear glass? I noticed a Velcro strip on the top fabric, I'm guessing there's supposed to be one on the glass so the top doesn't tuck under the black weather stripping under the glass when you raise the top?

The velcro straps hold a protective cover over the glass during shipment. You can peel them right out of there and throw them away.

I'll show a picture later, my new OEM blue top has two velcro straps bonded to the soft top fabric. I can't tear them out.

I ask because I've noticed the soft top tucking under that black weatherstrip at the bottom of the glass, on the passenger side, when I drive spiritedly. I feel like the fabric is going to damage that weatherstrip if it keeps tucking under it. So I figured that Velcro strap on the fabric was supposed to stick to a strap on the glass.

Made me look at my 2009. Whaddya know but those things are in there too! Never removed by the dealer and I had no idea they were present. Might just leave them in at this point.

I took another look at mine when I was applying some Raggtopp. Those things appear to be welded to the top. I think I would make things worse at this point than just leaving them well alone. Has not been an issue up to this point.

Perhaps when the car was new it would have been easy to remove them, not now!

Those velcro strips will eventually begin to peel off, at that point they can be removed. Don’t try to remove them unless they are peeling off. All they did was hold the white protective cover on the glass during shipping.

I have pulled off countless amounts of them, almost on a weekly basis.
