For months now, the clutch pedal on my '01 has been sticking very slightly at the bottom of its travel, accompanied by a squeaking sound when the pedal was depressed. It has always felt like something was not lubricated properly. I finally took the car in today since I had some free time, and the tech came up with this:
Bingo! Problem solved (so far at least). It only took like 30 minutes to do, and actual work time involved was probably less. He let me get under the car and take a peek afterwards, and it sounded pretty simple. Remove two easily-accessed bolts, pull off the rubber boot, and the fork needing lube "comes right out". I didn't see him do it though, so I'm not sure if it's really that easy. At any rate, you could probably do this in your driveway without too much trouble. I was not charged for this service, but I am still under a Hondacare extended warranty.
