Default some kind of leak near differential *pics*

I was moving my car out of the garage to wash it, and then I went to get the soap/buckets etc.. and i saw a drop of what sort of looked like oil. I looked under the engine and everything looked fine, then I looked under the rear and there seems to be some kind of oil leak somewhere but I can't figure out what it is, or where it's comming from. Hopefully someone can help me by looking at these pics

The black rubber doughnut that mounts the diff to the frame in the picture is fluid filled. My guess is that it sprung a leak. Chances are you'll need to replace it.

is that the part you're talking about?

if it is, then you might be right. there's two of those, and the one on the right is perfectly clean, while this one has some oil on it.

It's the differential mount. The only solution is to replace it.

Do you know if warranty will cover this? And is it ok if I drive it like this for a week or so before it's fixed, or does it require immediate attention?

And to get this fixed, could I order the part or should I just take it to the dealership and have them fix it?

Thanks for the help =]

If you still have warranty and as long as you haven't changed anything back under there, it should be covered. Just let the dealer take care of it.

I just noticed this same problem on a local owners car with under 20k miles on it. He's going to investigate having it repaired under warrantee but is concerned that the dealer may claim that lowering of the car could cause the problem. What's the consensus on this?

Just so you may feel a little better, both differential mounts started leaking on my old '00 at 50k miles, and for some reason the differential mount even broke, along with the transmission and engine mounts! The garage I took it to claimed that sliding the car sideways into a cement wall at 30 MPH had something to do with it. What a crock! ...
