Default Something you don't see every day

Thought y'all might get a kick out of this, especially with the recent post below regarding the EPS torque sensor.

What I've done in this video is diddled with the signal that the torque sensor sends to the EPS unit, initially to experiment with decreasing the amount of power assist. That project was successful though the intended result (more steering feel) is unproven in the limited testing I performed. However, along the way I discovered an interesting effect occurs if you wire things up a little differently, which you will see in the video.

Modifry are you trying to develop a new product for parents who are teaching their teenage kids how to drive the S in an empty parking lot?

That's pretty cool Bob! So does the torque sensor basically act like a pot on its outputs? I want to take on apart and see how it works. I figured it was some kind of hall effect pair with a torsion bar with a puck on it.
