My suggestion is to do plugs every 20 to 30k miles to keep silky smooth idle and her running great. Changed my plugs at 45k and they did not look too good. I am at 73k right now and planning on doing my plugs soon.

esmith51... Where can I find those?

Like several have already mentioned, 30k seems a good time to change plugs. I'm planning a modified 30k service on my '03 S2K which will include valve adjustment and plug change. I've already bought them too:
NGK Iridium IX BKR7EIX-11 #6988.

I just checked the plugs on my AP2 and they are Denso PK22PR-L11S. Why aren't Densos mentioned here? Are the NGKs better?

Is it normal to see some burnt stains on the insulator (between the insulator and the metal case)?

better off replacing them, and with S2k go with NGKs instead of Densos. Especially if you are going iradium, Denso's electrodes been known to break off inside the cylinder and causing engine damage.

I will be going with NGK.

My primary care physician seems to be a gearhead. When he found out I drive an S, he told me about Pulstar plugs and said they were great for my car. He showed me their website, which I knew nothing about. Blkwidow - why do you not like them? Not sure where the fuel efficiency data he showed me came from, but it said Pulstar increases it by 13.5%.

Old discussion. I'll see if I can find some topics. Some people had problems with a CEL. Only like one 3rd party dyno run and it didn't do anything.
