While changing spark plugs I broke all 4 of the little plastic clips that lock the wires plug to the coils (I guess I'm a Neanderthal but I really did try not to break the others after the first...)

I just plugged them up without them and put the cover back on. They all seem pretty tight in there, but is there a good chance that they will come loose?has anyone been here before?

they are going to come loose. I was heading down for RTD 2015 and an engine code- bad coil- was actually a loose clip. nearly sidelined my trip- or so i thought.

If they get loose it's usually cylinder 4

That is the part. I wonder if I can replace it re-using the existing copper leads, and no need to re-crimp/solder the new ones in as it looks like a literal PITA (or back)

In the meantime i'll throw an allen wrench in the car and maybe experiment with zipties..

 

I encountered the same problem with mine as well, while inspecting the coil packs and replacing the spark plugs. The retaining clips on every single one of my connectors simply crumbled into small pieces when I attempted to remove them. Ballenger Motorsports offers a replacement kit that works very well and are quite easy to install.

 

Broken coil pack clips have no preference. Your posts sometimes are very left field.

Zipties, while a cheap dirty fix, will probably get you by.
