Yes, for the expressed reason that slow constant pressure will strip a bolt - you need to snap the bolt lose with force.

That said, anything that doesn't budge should generally be treated with care so you don't damage the thing you're working on or yourself. Anti-seize, the right tools, and patience are key.

Good Lord! I would've just drilled the heads off the bolts the second they stripped, not worth even trying to use an extractor before getting the cover off. This would've saved your coil cover. Then you could've used a dremel to cut slits into the bolts and used an impact screwdriver to remove. (if they didnt want to come out even still)

All that extra effort and damage could have easily been avoided.

When I remove them I put an 18" cheater pipe on them and remove with ease. So far I have not come into any that have stumped me. 3

old days, we'd take a torch an heat up some bolts, that ya could.. others, couldn't reach.... then we'd wrench off a bolt so red hot it'd weld to the wrenches... now days...now days.. with a electric heat-gun, turn almost any bolt hot enough, then blast the bolt with a tilted can a air.. it'll freeze up in split seconds and as the heat of the surround area expands and the area of the bolt quickly chills.. they separate.. it's fffffing amazing...






this, brings me to...




on a side note, during a recent tearing apart, there were bolts which were heated up and removed as well as bolt which had to be cut off,, so,,, each bolt has it's own destiny... zen...

Lol this is so laughable but I applaud your efforts for sure. We've all been there: frustrated out of our mind for something so simple and dumb and you just say f*** it and do what you know how to do

I also loved the picture with the MS paint circles around the bolts, at that point i knew this thread would be gold. And I wasn't wrong lol.

If I were you I would frame those 2 pieces and hang it in your garage, labeled in your mind as "the conquest" lol
