Default Speed Craft Dynoed + questions

Had my car dynoes today with the speed craft turbo. Got 273.xx HP at 5.4Psi on 91 octane gas. (Sorry I left my dyno sheets at the shop.) I was only able to go up to 5.4 Psi for some reason. I just got my Blitz SBC-ID boost controller installed (was using my friend's AVCR previously) and I have it set at 6 psi manual mode and it would only go up to 5.4PSI when I have the SBC-ID set at 6psi auto mode it would only do 4.3PSI. I wasnt able to make 6 psi the whole day. Could it be that the boost controller wasnt installed right? Anybody have experiance with the SBC-ID by Blitz. Any help is appreciated. By the way I am very satisfied that my car made 273HP at only 5.4psi with A/F ration around 11.5-10.8. All I have besides the turbo is a HKS titanium racing exhaust with custom 3" piping.

Sorry if my post reads kinda weird, I'm just typing whatever comes up to my mind.

PS will post dyno once scanned

Wow, those are some really good numbers with only 5.4 psi and 11.5-10.8 AF ratio. I'm also sure that 3'' piping helped a bit too.

I just think the boost controller wasn't installed right, because the turbo is obviously capable of more than 6psi. Maybe something's wrong with the wastegate?

Sounds like something isn't hooked up right. I'm partial to Greddy boost controllers myself after much experience with most of the big names on the market. Anyway... sounds like when you have it set to 6 psi and it's actually on doing 4.x psi then your wastegate is probably controlling boost. The wastegate is spring actuated with a 4 lb. spring to controll boost. If your boost controller isn't hooked up properly then the wastegate will more than likely control boost.

Did you baseline your car on their dyno before installing and dyno'ing again? Reason I ask (and I'm not trying to steal your thunder here so sorry if it seems that way) is because that dyno also reported a stock 2002 Acura RSX Type S put down approx. 200hp to the wheels.

On another note, I'd love to feel your S someday and see the difference. I've been thinking about doing some type of FI but not sure which way to swing. Did the install go ok with MD? How much did they charge?

For what it's worth, my experience is that the particular dyno you're using, as well as the temperature, can make a big difference in the numbers you get. I "lost" 10rwhp when I had my car dyno'd on another machine recently. In any case, 273rwhp is pretty good on pump gas and low boost -- but it sounds as if you were really doing more than 5.4 psi of boost. 285rwhp seems to be the norm for 6psi, with a non-restrictive exhaust and the usual Speedcraft setup.
