Okay I looked through every post in this thread for an answer to the question that's been asked several times already:

What the hell do you mean exactly by "speed shifting?" Can someone please describe it in detail, and what's the difference between it and just "shifting fast?"

I've searched da Google and I'm getting confusing/misleading results. I thought this question was answered already in this thread... I hope I'm not missing it.

from what I gather it's basically pretending like you have dog gears in a car that doesn't have dog gears.. i.e. -ramming it to the next gear without using the clutch for faster shifting.

To amirite: Speed-shifting (a.k.a. race-changing etc. depending on which part of the world you're from) = changing gears fast and without taking your foot off the gas pedal.

To Kap: You are comparing apples to oranges ! I'm referring to STOCK S2000's abilities on the drag strip and not the hyper souped-up Hollywood drag "queen" from "The Fast and the Furious" !

he was joking.

k i'm looking at a satellite map of Malta on google maps and i see more than a handful of nice looking windy coastal roads. take your car out on those.

man what i wouldn't give to be driving a Mediterranean coastal road and you're sitting here complaining that the clutch can't take speedshifting... as if any car you drive off a dealer lot is going to be happy with that kind of abuse.

forget the drag strip and enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

To thebig33tuna: Yeah, I know kap was joking but I wanted him to be aware that I'm talking about stock S2K's and their ability to handle speed-shifting and drag strip driving.

I do use our coastal roads but speed cameras are sprouting up everywhere on them and that's why we end up using the dragstrip.

Yes, tx v much, istdercollen . I did see your post about fitting dog-cut gears. I will be keeping the car stock for quite a while. I'm pretty tight on finances after buying the car and the Comp Clutch that the Honda dealership screwed up for me made matters financially worse.

I had started this thread just to get to know how much the car can take in stock form on a dragstrip.
