Neither one. It is in the transmission. The sensor is a Hall Effect type sensors. The pickup point differs from 00-05 and 06+. The 06+ transmission it is located on the output shaft of the transmission. On the earlier models it is located on the secondary reduction shaft.
The connections is located on the engine harness. The leg of the harness that has both O2 sensors, has two connections for the transmission. The reverse switch and the speed sensor. Both of the O2 sensors have 4 wires in the connector. The speed sensor has three wires and lastly the reverse switch has two.

I will look into that tonight. I think I know where they are. I think I saw two connections for 02 sensors (primary-secondary). I think the other one is the speed sensor. I don't know the reverse sensor, maybe in the other side of the housing. I know those three at the same side.
By the way, I will be using a digidash instead of the S2000 dash. Do you think the sensor you mentioned will work to the digidash? Do I need other sensor at the end of the wire or just need a connection to the dash? http://www.etbinstruments.com/DigiDa...e_Overview.htm
Here is the picture of that leg of the engine harness. The black plug is for the speed sensor and the other three gray plugs are for the reverse switch and both O2 sensors.

Thanks again
I would assume that is would be compatible. The Hall Effect sensor is a very commonly used sensor for speed. It takes a 5volt referance signal, a ground connections and the speed output. You will have to adjust the display using it's supplied configuration software to display the proper speed for the signal wave from the sensor.
I too plan on using a digital dash, but mine will use a GPS for speed.
