Default Spirax

Last week I had a full 15000Km Service and requested to include a diff oil change. The head mechanic at the only Honda Dealer in the country came up with this Diff oil from SHELL called SPIRAX. He said that its recommended by Honda to use this oil in diffs on S2000. I was bit sceptic about this OIL and took a pic with my cheap phone camera for further investigation.

Has anyone used this before ?? COMMENTS PLEASE

Does it say GL-5 someplace on the bottle? If not, you might want to investigate a bit more closely and perhaps refrain from driving your car too much till you get it sorted out.

Although it will probably work OK, there are Spirax formulations that might be a better choice. This is what you are showing..

Shell Spirax A AXLE OIL
Spirax A LS are blended for use in a wide variety of automotive axle units with limited slip differentials.

There are also Spirex S that is a GL-5 rated synthetic 75W90, Spirex ASX 75W90 syntehtic rated GL-5 and Spirex EW that is a 75W90.

Its good to know there are better products with the same brand. My main concern is not to harm my diff.

ASX seems wierd, as it seems its used for trucks

Spirax AX increased gear life by 47% in Mercedes-Benz axle test procedures..

Didn't find info on the Spirex S
