Hi All,

I need some help, I installed the spoon ECU on sunday and my car wouldn't start
Is there anything else besides swapping ecu's that has to be done???

Tried install on 2 different S2Ks and neither would start! any suggestions will be helpful and very appreciated!!!

Your probably right, but I just wanna make sure I didn't miss anything.
It's a good thing the part is on loan from someone else

 

I believe the Spoon ECU is just a rework of the Honda ECU. My guesses are the immobilizer key is still programmed into the ECU. I don't believe anything JDM specific (if you got it gray market or not) which would cause it not to startup.

 

where did you buy it from? and how much?

 

Someone posted about the same thing not so long back but I cant remember which forum? try do a search, but I seem to remember they sent it back eventually.

Thankfully I didn't buy it It is on loan from someone else, it didn't work in his car either!

So yes, I agree with you guys, it's probably just broken!
OH WELL

 

There will be no problems for the Spoon ECU that I assume. You need to bypass the factory immobilizer before you can fire up the engine. It is pretty much same immobilizer system as the 00-01 ITR.

 

how do you bypass the immobilizer???
