Default Spoon motor with Comptech SC... your guess?

Just finished chatting with a friend... we were talking about the ultimate S2K motor setup... anybody care to guess the HP, Road HP and Wheel HP gains if we slapped a Comptech SC on a Spoon 11,000rpm motor? Or am I dreaming?

Wouldn't the higher comp Spoon engine pose problems for the Comptech SC, to the point that you would negate the gains of the SC?

Shamu is right on with this. The Spoon engine has something like a 12.6 CR...that's way to high for any significant amount of boost.

If you want to tweak an F20C for max power, you will need completely redo the bottom end with lower compression pistons, new rods, crank and bearings, etc...then put an SC on and crank up the boost.

I wouldn't think you could run any more than a couple of pounds of boost with a NA compression ratio of 12.6.

This is just my opinion as I'm not a fan of boost on this motor, but the F20C isn't a good candidate simply because of the CR. The Spoon motor is an even worse one...

The spoon motor does not rev to 11 grand. At least, in the BM video I have of the spoon racecar, the driver shifts at 9K.

my understanding is that the spoon motor that we can buy is rated at 265 fwhp and is basically a knife-edged, fully balanced and blueprinted stock motor, 9000 max rpm vs. 8900

mingster, i think you are talking about the racing engine that they rebuild every few weeks or so? if not, can you get this 12000 rpm monster? how much? how much power?

also, can you get the spoon instrument cluster that is needed for this motor too? i actually am very interested in a real tach

thanks,
bassem
