Default Spring install help needed

I am installing new springs and shocks and I need to know which how to install the springs onto the shocks. My springs are more tightly coiled on one end than the other. Does the tighter side rest on the spring perch or the other way around?

With stock springs, the "flatter" end goes towards the top because the top mount is flat. Aftermarket springs for stock shocks and aftermarket shocks for stock springs should be the same unless you have aftermarket coilover kit that is not meant to work with stock springs or shocks.
