Default Sputtering after hitting V tec

Ok. So the car runs fine. But once it hits vtec, even if it is only like just at 6,100, the car will somewhat sputter a little bit when let off and lightly give it more gas. But if i put if to the floor it will not do it.

So if I hit vtec getting on the high way and I cruise and let off to go down a hill and then slowly get back on the gas to go up the other side it will sputter for a second.

Anyone have any experience with this?

It has been doing it since I bought the car. I have changed the oil many times, and I check my levels all the time.

Really I cannot think of any other way to explain it. The motor is getting pulled soon as the engine bay is getting majorly remodeled, and I plan on changing plugs along with many other things. Hopefully it will fix the problem. It has 93k on it. It runs a bit rich when you are really on it into vtec, could be related but I doubt it..

sleepy2000, you mentioned solenoid filter ? Is this something that should be checked often as a PM? Just a question.
