Default Squeak behind driver's seat.

Hey guys, there is a squeak driving me crazy coming from over my right shoulder, in line with the top of the door/bottom of soft top. (RHD car). It happens with the top up or down, and it isn't the seat belt rubbing on anything. Could it be the soft top components? On a very smooth road it doesn't happen.

These cars make all kinds of noises, you will be hard pressed to find the source of it. I had a rattle behind my seat that turned out to be the Tonneau (spelling?) bolt had come loose and fallen down in the back pannel and rattled for months. It took me ages to find the source.

Squeak from that area is often the spare tire hold down... check and tighten.

This is a classic, and can sound like it's coming from just about anywhere behind the driver.

x2... This one drove me INSANE on a 3 hour drive to the beach. When I figured out all I had to do was tighten the spare tire down I was even more pissed, lol.

I'mma check the spare tire tomrrow. I know exactly what the OP is talking about, it drives me crazy. I have been thinking that it is my seat rubbing against the back where I'm tall and have the seat all the way back.

Removed spare tyre , noise is still there but much quieter with top down (I think the other noises just drown it out). Going to try some white lithium grease on the latches and hinges.

For some reason, I've found that if my seat is all the way back it'll hit the part behind it. Try checking the three screws holding down the top part of the fuel pump/tank.
