I don't know if Stay-Bil will work or not since it's been so long but you might want to give that a try. Read the label on the back or mayb e the info will be on their website.

If you are sure it is "stale" gasoline I would try to remove the old gas from the tank first. With a 1/4 tank a fair amount of condensation could have formed within the tank and this water needs to be removed. Try to get as much old fuel from existing lines as well and then put some new fuel in the tank.

Next time you store it for a long period, fill the tank all the way up to the filler neck and add a bottle of Stabil. This will lessen the surface area exposed to the atmosphere.

If your on a return fuel system then unplug the return line and run an extra line from that to a gas can and turn the key HALF way DO NOT hit the start!. All the gas will flow threw the lines and back out into your gas can. Refill and your good.

If your on a returnless fuel system then.... Unplug the fuel line from right under the motor. Run a + 12v wire to the + on the top of the fuel pump and the pump will run all the gas threw the line into your gas can.
