Default Starter problem

Guys, i need your help. My starter went out at 32,200 miles, is that possible? Same with my battery, it went out (not rechargable). Does anyone know what might of cuased the starter to go out? I blew my rod bearing in the motor (engine oil starvation), got that swapped in but they told me that the starter did not work and the battery did not charge.

I take it this is a mechanic telling you this, correct? It does not make sense that your starter would go out. Not surprising that the battery died if it has been sitting uncharged for a while during the engine rebuild.

Ask them what is happening that is leading them to believe that the starter is not working. If the battery is not taking a charge, how did they try and start the car to find that the starter not working?

If they are making the diagnosis based on trying to jumpstart the car and finding that the car won't start, then maybe they need to look at a couple other things first.

Maybe they don't have all the grounds in place...the one at the back of the head is easy to forget and hard to see to notice that it was forgotten. The car won't start without it.

Or maybe they have the cams in incorrectly...even one tooth off or if it is 180degrees out, the car won't start.
