My car was involved in a accident recently and it was fliped to its side. the part that connects the wheels to the steering gearbox broke. does anyone no where i can buy just the steering gear rod? the steering column is fine.



i think i need the part number 17

but i just need the rod if thats possible

Sorry man but I think you need all the steering box, the rack is broken and most likely the gears to the pinion are damaged

 

You are looking for a part called the "rack" gear. The one that comes from the column is called the pinion gear.

I doubt you will be able to find it individually, but you can usually find a complete steering rack for sale here on the forums for less than $200(usually way less)
