Default Stock brake pads

1-I want to know if stock pads are good enough if I lap at most once per week. Lapping session is 20 minutes with quite a bit of braking.

I only started lapping this season and the stock pads seemed fine until the material got thin (after 7 or 8 lapping sessions) and heat transfer really started to affect braking. I switched to Super Blue fluid.

I think I have my answer but would appreciate input.

From what I found using the search is that aftermarket pads are mostly for heavy track use and not really great for the street.

2-Another question. At what thickness should the pads be replaced in order to avoid too much heat transfer?

Thanks

Sounds to me like you need to get a Track only pad. The stock pads are good enough for a new track driver for the first few weekends. If you have driven the track more than twice, you are driving harder than a new track driver and will need a better pad.

So you mean I should switch pads back and forth between street and track use types? If so, would it be for fronts only or all around?

All around. It is not that hard. Takes about 20min to do. I do it at the track when I am changing the wheels.

I only put about 3000 miles on the car every season including lapping miles.
I would really like to use one set of pads that can do a good job for both my street and track use.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I use Carbotech Panther Plus pads for all situations. Stands up to track use just fine, and works at colder street temps as well.

carbotech pads are excellent at track temperatures, and adequate at normal driving temps. they work best hot, and on our car will work ok (not great) on the street. they will be dusty though, and won't last as long as stock pads. with carbotech on the track, you can use as much of the pad as you feel comfortable. the material is consistent basically all the way to the backing plate. and yes i know what i'm talking about, and i'm guessing stratocaster does too.
