Default Stock Suspension Weight?

Anyone know how much the stock suspension weighs, including strut and springs.

I am trying to figure out how much weight the Tein suspension system would save..

Thanks

Chris

Don't know if this helps much, but it weighed 50lbs for me to ship the stock struts with springs with some bubble wrap. I would gues 4lbs for the box and packing materials.

I wish I had a reliable weighing device, as I have the stock suspension assembled and sitting in my garage when I swapped to tiens. From what I could tell with holding a tien and the stock in either hand, the weight savings isn't that much, maybe 7lbs most for each assembly. I'm sure the added weight of the resevoirs on the tiens don't help.

7lbs a corner is alot. Remember that this is unsprung weight which is the most crucial when determining where you want to save weight.

I dont know which is which, but tein has two models for the s2000 (three really, but one is just for street) if you have the additional reservoirs on your teins you have the top of the line (rs or ra) i believe the model below this one, is even lighter, no additional reservoirs on the struts.

Hope that helps.

true, unsprung weight is important, but it comes to a point where you reach the driver's limits, not the car's limit. Reducing weight is always a plus, even better at the corners like you said, but there comes a point where it just doesn't matter unless the driver can raise his limits by reducing corner weight. The only reason I upgraded suspension was for adjustabilty, because I don't drive like everyone else.
