stranded on road need help!
I have a 01 AP1 with a vortech sc, 4.5 inch pulley, aem ems, aem 3.5 bar map sensor, aem fpr, 750cc inj, J's N1 exaust, and denso IK24 plugs gapped at .032. The plugs were changed 2 weeks ago, the vortech and exaust were on the car when I got it in Jan 07, and the other mods were installed about a month ago and tuned at a local shop.
Problem: I was driving down the highway and all of a sudded the car lost power. I tapped the gas pedal and nothing happened. As I was pulling over to the side of the road the engine completely shut off. This was about 40 seconds after the power loss. The car had to be towed and now I am stuck without a clue what's wrong. All I know is if the car sits for about an hour or so it will turn over, idle for about 10-20 seconds and then sputter and die. If you put it in geat and try and move it will die instantly. Once the car dies it will no longer turn over. If you let it sit another hour or so it will start and die again.
Does anyone have a clue as to what could be the problem????

Did you make sure that your oil filter was still there? Not trying to sound like a smart ass ... but it seems like I keep reading threads where people are losing all power to the car and the end result is that the oil filter had vibrated off and eventually leaked out all of the oil ...
No offense taken
The oil and all of the other fluids were the first things that i checked when the car stopped last night. To be sure it was not the filter or fluids this morning I rechecked everything as well as checked the fuses. Do you know what else I could check??

Only other thing that comes to mind is that my buddy had a similiar problem with his K20 EK and problem was that one of the grounds leading to the alternator had worked itself off the chasis.

I was going to guess fuel too.
Basic rule when the engine won't run: fuel, spark, or air. Since it turns over and idles even a little bit, it's probably not spark. Could be air, but it sounds more like fuel.

Sounds like fuel. Perhaps your pump is on it's last leg or has a clog.
