Hey, I have an annoying noise question and was wondering if someone could help. My car makes a strange squeak/whistle sound very briefly around 3000 RPM when i am at very partial throttle (about 1/4 throttle). The noise only happens for a second as the revs climb past 3000. The sound is mostly predominant in 3rd and 4th gears but can be hear i 2nd too. I was wondering if anyone heard anything like this or knows something I don't. Very random question but thatnks for the help in advance!

 

sounds like intake resonance. It's normal.

I have occationally heard the noise since posting that, but I have no idea what's making it.

This is intake noise. it is completely normal.

in either case, i think you're hearing a noise that is not a sign of a problem or issue. this car makes a ton of noises that most cars don't. it's not going to blow up next time you mash the gas.

 

haha, you're damn right our cars make a million weird noises, it freaks me out. The noise doesn't really sound like resonance but it could be and I don't think it's a major problem. Thanks for the help and reply guys!

 

it's not like normal resonance. it literally sounds like a whistling.
