I bought my 2005 about two months ago. Recently I changed the oil to Castrol Edge 5W-30 and also use a Wix 51334 oil filter. Just after that it seemed sluggish. Not nearly as responsive as before.

I was worried about maybe having added too much oil (it was at the H part of the stick), I removed some to get it to the middle range. It is working properly, in fact I just returned from a quick 1200 mile highway (60-80 mph) trip, didn't use a drop of oil and averaged about 28 mpg.

Any ideas?

 

I forgot to add that it has 62K miles.

i been using mobile one forever and it burned so much, im a ap1 66k miles now
so after burning 4 quarts in 3500 miles i was like really?

gave mobile 1 one more chance and after 600 miles i already lost at lest a quart
i changed to castrol edge 10w 30 changed the filter and started the car and saw how much oil
i had warmed up and went into vtec. and it pulled harder and felt faster.

on the dip stick it was on the 4th or the 5th X,

and btw did you check it cold warm or hot?
