Default strange tick/flutter

Does anybody else experience a noise that sounds like a faint ticking more so from the passenger side that seems to amplify off from barriers. Its worst when the car is cold and almost gone for me when the car warms up. Seems to be worst around 2k rpms.... Sounds like it could be injectors maybe with the hood closed the sound gets directed to the passenger side. Anybody else hear this... Ive seen some threads but no real answer. Also just did a VA and when using a mechanics stethoscope i cant find any abnormal sounds but ive only done this when the car has warmed up

Ive noticed this too. I can have the hood open and the motor is almost silent, nothing out of the ordinary. Driving next to walls or buildings I can hear a light tick. I haven't been able to figure out what it is.

Possible exhaust leak. These engines can be a little noisy. When was the last time you adjusted your valves?

You might try replacing your exhaust gaskets. A leaking gasket can most definitely make a noise like you're describing. With the exhaust running under the passenger side of the car it would make sense that it would be more pronounced on that side as well.

You can use a stethoscope to poke around for the noise, just be careful of moving components. If a stethoscope isn't available, you can use a long-ish screwdriver, and put the handle against your ear. Touch the tip to metal and you'll be able to "hear" the noise. Valvetrain or exhaust leak is my guess.
