Default Stroker Modifications

I am Stoked that S2000_Europe is going for the Feels stroker. It may be a bit of an aside, but do you need to run an Aem ems with a stroker, or can you use the stock or other aftermarket ecu with it? I have been quite tempted by the feels 2.3L stroker and am glad some are going for it. I did want to keep the immobilizer in the stock ecu, but i did not think the stock ecu would work with the stroker. Please correct me if I am wrong. Otherwise, good luck. While I am asking, in general what would work well with a stroker aside from a hot chick and a lot of beer?

Don't know much about the stroker, other than what I have already read on this board. The consensus was something like, "this will be hard on the sidewalls of the cylinder." They indicated that the stroker changed the geometry of the piston rod and the crank. Most people were opting for FI over stroking.

As for your last comment. If you have a LOT of beer, all chicks are hot!!

Good Luck with the forced induction. I like doing things the hard way, plus although maybe risky, it appears that Feel's is a pretty solid company. Any basics on what else needs to be considered when adding the stroker would be greatly appreciated; from a tuning or adding modifications point of view.
Thanks

Looking at the gasket on the stroker kit, it will make the cylinder walls very thin in between the cylinders. It should be ok for NA, but I would not do it if I was going FI.

i'm building a stroker motor with my turbo kit. mine is custom using je pistons, crower rods and crank to my specs. je says estimated time 2 to 3 weeks, crower is 3 to 5. my block is out to benson's and i'll be using custom ductile iron sleeves. so i'm aslo boring my block. making a kit to your own specs gives you a lot for advantges over say the feels kit. i wanted to using flat top pistons instead to domes because of my forced induction app. any capable engine tuner can outline a specs for a stroker motor for you.

What kind of engine management unit do you recommend with a stroker? If you add forced induction, it seems that a standalone unit such as aem would be necessary. If you did not go the FI route would you still need a standalone unit? Pardon me if these are basic questions, I thought the under the hood folks could lend me a hand on this. Peace.

It seems that you could retain the stock ECU if you increased your fuel pressure, or went to larger injectors, then tuned with a V-AFC or emanage. The Feels stroker only increases displacement by 15%, so you would need less than 15% more fuel to maintain stock Air / Fuel Ratios. I think the stock AFR is 10% too rich on average anyway, so you would only REALLY need to add another 5-10% more fuel.
