Default Stupid Mistake While Pulling The Valve Cover

Well, I went to pull my valve cover without looking at any guides or anything. Went smooth got it out but noticed throughout the pictures I took one of the washers is missing. I've literally looked everywhere (inside the engine ect) and I cant seem to locate it. Has anyone else had this issue or possibly can think of a place I need to look that I'm not? In the first picture while its on the car you can see the washer still. But the second picture (moved off the car right to the ground) you can see one is missing.
Also, I've ordered the PWJDM set of washers and noticed they only come in sets of 4,not 5. Any reasoning behind that?
Would it be safe to run the car without the washer on there or are they actually functional to keeping oil in.
Thanks!

I did the same thing when I took off my valve cover a while back. I looked for quite a while, but ended up finding it under some boxes a few feet away in the garage. Those things can roll pretty far. I would definitely use all the washers. Have an extra pair of eyes help look for it. Good luck!

Am I correct in assuming its to big to make its way to far into the engine to be visible? That's my main concern. Assuming I can't find it I can park the car till the replacements come in the mail. Also, I take it you need to purchase 2 of the PWJDM kits to have enough bolts/washers for everything?

when you pull off the valvecover they will pop/fly off if you don't physically remove each one by hand before lifting the valvecover. I'm pretty sure it's in the engine bay or on the floor of where you removed the cover.

PWJDM probably sells them in kits of 4 because the rear-most washer is covered by the coil cover so they must figure it isn't worth having a bling washer there if it is covered up all the time ?

I removed the heat shield and it happened to be wedged in there. I appreciate all the help! Those things definitely can go places.

Like JFUSION said, when you're taking off the valve cover remove the bolts and the washers before you pop off the cover.
