Default Stupid stereo ate a CD of mine...

I put a CD in my 2005 S2K on my way home from the car lot that I bought it in, and it played fine - well, when I tried to take it out, it says ERR and won't spit it out, and it won't play the CD anymore.

Am I screwed out of a CD or what?

Is there a way to reset the stereo so I can hopefully get my CD out, or at least get it to play again so I can listen to something while I drive my awesome new car?

The radio is hosed. You can have a dealer send it off for repairs.

if you just bought it, then i would expect them to foot the bill. All of the used cars i have ever bought came with a 30 day guarantee that covers any sort of defect. I would take it back to them and see what they can do for you.

You'll have to check with your local dealer.

You know, I am having a similar problem with my stereo in the 04. When I insert a CD, it takes it but it stops as it is being inserted. Sometimes it makes it all the way, and it gives me the same ERR code, but it spits it out. Anyone else experiencing issues with CDs as the OP stated?

I bought my OEM stereo on Ebay, with code, for like $50 shipped, I think. Still works fine.

Funniest thing... today, when I got into my car, the CD I had in was ejected, so I pulled it out, and put in another one, and it played it fine... until I went to eject it, and lo and behold, the dreaded ERR code reared it's ugly face yet again.

I'm gonna just get myself a cheap deck off the streets, and have it installed by a friend.

My 02 does the same as you stated. When i try to eject the cd it will say ERR at random times.. Then i just play the radio and then later try to eject the cd and it will eject the cd without an error. This happens every once in a while.
