Supra PCV valve DIY
hey, i did the supra pcv valve diy and i never got any CELs or any weird symptoms. everything's completely normal. but did it do anything for me if i don't hear the whoooosh upon removing the dipstick, and my car is still burning oil every once in a while? i have an AP1. the person who posted the DIY had an AP2 with a different stock pcv valve, but i read that it would work the same for AP1s.
thanks
thanks
Unless you have placed a check/PCV valve on the breather tube that is plumbed into the intake pipe then you will not get the constant vaccuum in the head, therefore no "swoosh" when you pull the dipstick out.
The stock PCV valve is fine for an NA motor, you can just add a PCV valve (or the one krankvent) into the breather to intake tube, that way there is a constant vaccuum in the head. The other Krankvent (or the supra PCV) placed inline with the stock PCV is for boosted cars, as the stock honda PCV can fail under positive pressure, AKA booooost.
You need to have both check valves in place to maintain the vaccuum in the head.

yeah i have the one inline with the stock PCV and the stock one that as already plumbed into the intake. i figured it'd be more useful in boosted cars, but i heard that it can help NA cars as well. O well, it was fun making it

damn who's the girl in your avatar nightcrawler??!!!
So if your car is NA you should put the Check Valve/PCV/Krank Vent in-line with the line that goes into the intake tube(not the manifold) so it acts as a second factory PCV? I bought a TT Supra PCV from Advance Auto parts for $2 and change. I figured it wouldnt really do anything on a stock car inline with the stock PCV. I just want to make sure I get this right. Thanks
