Default suspension damage

I'm a newbie to this forum, just bought my s2000 3 weeks ago and now it's in the shop. Hit the curb this past weekend and the front and rear suspension on the passenger side went to junk. It's going to be in the shop for a while. I'm concerned that it's not going to be the same. Does anybody have any knowledge on our suspension setups? Are these setups a one time deal? Any info. on this matter will help alot. Thanks.

so long as you didn't hit hard enough to tweak the frame, the suspension components are designed to fail catastropically (absorb all the impact). so if you replace what's broken and bent, and get it realigned, you should be good as new. also your wheels might be bent-- those may need replacement as well.

keep an eye on your tread wear and whether the steering tracks straight.

sorry to hear about your mishap so soon after acquiring your S. hope the insurance picks up most of the bill.

Thanks for the info. I definitely feel better that things can be good as new, but I'm still bummed that my car is in the shop. Thanks to God my insurance is picking up the bill. Just spoke with the shop, over 10 g's worth of damage and repair, including the new wheels. But when I do get it back, I'll definitely keep an eye out on my tread wear and steering. Thanks again. It's going to be a long 2 months, hopefully less.

Have good faith in the shop performing the work. Presuming it's a dealer, if they are replacing the damaged components, more than likely it will go to a body/frame shop afterwards, just to make sure things are back to fac. specs. I've seen many times before, a dealer will automatically send it to a body/frame shop to perform ALL the work.

I actually called up Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos, told them my situation and they told me to take it to Bellflower Collision. They said they take all their major body repairs there and still honor the factory warranty afterwards. They carry a lifetime guarantee to all their work which is definitely a good thing. I have faith in them, I just never had to deal with this kind of repair for my car before. I feel like a worried parent.
