I purchased an AP2 Wheel from a friend and was wondering if I will have any issues while converting over. I noticed the "Cancel" button is an addition but the feature has always been there on the AP1 (Pressing both buttons at once is cancel). So, will I need to fabricate a wiring harness for the cancel button or will it not even work at all. Also, Will I be able to install my SRS airbag system into the AP2 wheel? This is the big issue? Any help is appreciated.

 

Yes, the wheel is exactly the same where. The only difference is the way they wrapped the leather. The AP1 and AP2 buttons are the same too. The sub harness, buttons to SRS reel is different, but compatible. The SRS side of the sub harness is the same for AP1 and AP2. The button side is differant to match with the buttons.

I have an AP1, with an AP2 steering wheel and AP2 buttons. It is plug and play.

 

So by that point... is the AP2 cruise buttons mountable on an AP1 Wheel? Can I use the Ap2 Airbag with the AP1 wheel?

For context my AP2 wheel is torn up and I have a lead on a clean AP1 wheel which I like just fine. I'd like to swap over my cruise buttons since the new wheel doesn't have it included and I'd also like to use my AP2 Bag since its in perfectly fine shape and the new wheel also doesn't come with one.

 

It's plug and play. All years steering wheels will fit but only the air bag from 200-2005 will work. The 06 and up have dual stage air bad and will not work. I have an ap2 04-09 steering wheel and ap2 version 1 04-05 air bag in my 2002 ap1. The extra cancel button on the Cruze control will also work.
