Swapping diff's. Alignment needed?

Default Swapping diff's. Alignment needed?

After swapping my diff to the puddy mod, do i need to get an alignment?

Normally: no.

Did you follow the manual?
Pop the ball joints to get the room to pull the axle's out of the diff?
If so: no.

If you removed the track rods and/or other bolts from the lower arms : yes.

It's never too late to get the UK-spec alignment though

How long does it usually take to swap a diff? I have the car on a hoist right now, but don't have one of those tranny lifting things.

For you 4-8 hours. For me 1-2 hours.

I removed my diff in 1 hour without popping the balljoints or removing the axles...

Unless I'm missing something I don't see why you would do anything with the axles aside from disconnect them from the diff. Is there some lip or flange at those mating surfaces that's seemingly impossible to overcome without the additional clearance of disconnecting some of the suspension?

Seems like it's just a few bolts to disconnect the axles at the diff, disconnect the drive shaft, and drop the diff out by undoing the mounts.

There is a long rod sticking out of both axles that extends into the dif.

OK, I believe you. Now tell us how you did it?

Oh, and it took be well over 4 hours the first time I did it. Just having done it atleast 10 times now, I have gotten faster.
