Anyone know how hard it is to swap out an AP1 with another one? or is it just bolt on bolt off, sorry i tried lookin on forums but its all about swapping out AP1 for an AP2. My motor is comming to my house tommorow and i want to start on it because its been out of commision for about 5 months already, is there anything else i should know?

 

AP1 what? Are you talking about replacing the engine?

 

yeah bascially just swapping out an 03' for an 02' cuz my 03' got messed up and the 02 was the only one i could find

 

It's the same engine. Buy a service manual from www.helminc.com All the steps needed and any other info is all there.

 

is it the same thing as chiltons?

its not that bad..just got done doing the same thing to mine. if u have any questions feel free to pm me! I spun a rod bearing on mine.. My AP1 engine is for sale if anyone is interested in it pm me it has 32k miles on it its an MY01

 

The Helm manual is the factory service manual, the same thing the dealer uses. Chilton pales in comparison.

 

yeah, chiltons is not all that useful except for looking up stuff quick since sometimes its a pain to find it in the helms with so many pages.

The engine swap should be nice and easy being that they are both the same. Where you located?

 

i'm in hawaii. motor got messed up from oil starvation and my bro gunning it. how long would it take to get shipped down over here, i want to start on it asap
