So, like many people (see below), I lowered my car using the Swift springs and the front end was lower on the driver's side.

For me, there was a 3/8" difference between the front left (lower) and front right.

Yes, I preloaded the suspension correctly. Yes, I got it aligned. Yes, I waited for the springs to settle (8 months). Yes, I have the top hat, isolators, etc. installed properly.

So, I decided to do something about it. I made my own spring seat adapter for my Koni shocks to raise the driver's side 3/8" to match the drop on the passenger side.

After replacing the stock Koni seat with this one, the passenger and driver's side are now dead even, and about 1 3/8" lower than stock in the front.

Nice and easy fix with access to a lathe. I love seeing people machining their own solutions to problems like this. Nice job man.

 

That is actually a very very bad thing to do. Your corner weights are now WAY off.

 

As if they were perfect to begin with. There's no way to adjust his corner weights anyway with just Koni Yellows and springs. They were probably off before, and more off now, but I'm *guessing* his car isn't a track rat anyway. It might make a noticeable difference to someone who HPDE's every weekend, but not to your average spirited driver.

 

The corner weights, I'm sure, were not even to start with.

More importantly, the front left tire was rubbing on high-g right turns and occasionally even on bumps.

If anything, if I were to guess, the front/left weight balance is better than before, though this could be measured if I cared to.

The car is no stranger to the track, and if freeway on + offramps are any indication, the handling has not been compromised significantly.

 

Good stuff man, making custom things to make stuff works is great.

I did the exact same thing with my Tein spring on stock shocks, except I made a spacer for the top hat. Two years later and I completely forgot it was there.

 

Awesome! I would have gone that route, much simpler piece to make, but the bolts were just a little too short.

The downside to mine is that it ads a little spring preload, but yours does not

I see I am not the only one who buys parts that are not perfect. Even if they are not cheap.

 

This car is actually very balanced to start with. If you don't care about your cross weight have at it.

 

Not that I have researched this at all, so don't know. What would happen if you switched the springs left to right? Would it make the passenger side lower then the drivers, if so this would be ideal to compensate for driver weight.
